Welcome to Dance Mechanic - book your performance tune up here.
Hello! My name is Amy Love.
I’m not your typical physiotherapist working out of a traditional clinic. I meet dancers where they feel most comfortable: in studios, at home, and online. I also offer appointments from a private Pilates studio in Robina for those seeking a dedicated space for treatment and exercise-based work.
My pathway into physiotherapy was driven by a deep curiosity about the human body, shaped by my background in contemporary dance, dance teaching, and personal training. While supporting dancers and the general population through injury is incredibly rewarding, I believe physiotherapy should extend beyond injury management. It should be accessible to anyone wanting to improve performance, better understand their body, and reduce injury risk—whether they’re currently injured or not.
I am committed to continual growth and professional development. As a Registered Physiotherapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, I meet the required 20 hours of continuing professional development annually; though I consistently exceed this standard. Beyond formal education, I continuously refine my clinical approach to ensure I deliver high-quality, individualised care.
My clinical approach integrates additional training in dry needling and clinical Pilates, allowing me to combine hands-on treatment with targeted, exercise-based rehabilitation.
I work collaboratively with dancers, their parents, and teachers to support safe, effective, and sustainable performance outcomes.
Through Dance Mechanic Physio & Performance, I bridge the gap between dance training and clinical body science, supporting dancers, teachers, and studios to train smarter and perform sustainably.
My work includes evidence-informed education in:
Safe and sustainable dance practice
Dancer-specific anatomy
Performance conditioning
Injury prevention
Load management for developing dancers
I also partner with VET dance programs to deliver unit-aligned training, supporting trainers and assessors with clinically accurate, industry-current education.
If you’re ready to better understand your body, train with intention, and support your long-term performance, I’d love to work with you. You can book a session through my online system or reach out to find the best option for your needs. I feel incredibly grateful to be part of each dancer’s journey, and I look forward to supporting you in yours—wherever you’re starting from.
